At the request of Entidade Regional de Turismo do Alentejo, Essentia created a plan for the development of tourism in the Alentejo, a project that proved essential to reposition the region’s national and international tourism. Carried out between 2009 and 2010, this project attracted a large number of enterprises and institutions, both regional and local, as well as the local population, to create the project’s concept, operational activities and development. In 2010 it was awarded 2010 best national tourism region (Melhor Região de Turismo Nacional 2010, in Publituris Portugal Travel Awards), 2010 best national tourism region (Melhor Região de Turismo Nacional 2010, by the Portuguese Secretary of State for Tourism), 2010 best national destination (Melhor Destino Nacional 2010, by the World Travel Market Global Awards).
